True to tradition, this year's festival poster was a result of a design competition organised by Kulturhavn.
In 2015 the competition was open to international entries for the first time, which resulted in 985 poster proposals from 75 different countries – a marked increase from last year when the festival received 123 proposals.
The winner was the Iranian artist Hadi Arjmand Ghojor, who resides in Turkey. Despite Hadi not speaking English very well and never having visited Kulturhavn he has managed to perfectly capture the unique spirit of the festival. The simple heart, symbolising the openness and inclusion of the festival, was a sure hit with the jury.
“Good communication design speaks to people and should give people something to talk about – whether or not you speak the language,” says jury chairman Tobias Røder, Creative Director of Studiomega.
A big thank you to everyone who participated in the competition – we hope you will join us again in 2016.
