Volunteer at this year’s Kulturhavn Festival


Are you passionate about culture and sports, and would you like to become part of a big and festive community? Then it is YOU we are searching for at Kulturhavn Festival!


Now you can become part of Denmark’s largest culture- and harbor festival, taking place along the beautiful harbors of Copenhagen. We are looking for volunteers who will take part in preparing and launching the festival during the weekend of August 23rd – 25th. Throughout the weekend, a huge number of sports- and cultural activities will take place along the harbor fronts of Copenhagen. As a volunteer you will work together with more than 100 enthusiastic Copenhagen-based associations and participants and be a part of giving the people of Copenhagen - and our visitors - an unforgettable experience.

Kulturhavn Festival are looking for volunteers who are passionate about culture, sports and communication, and who would like to play a part in helping at the festival areas before or during the festival – or both. You will be assigned one of the festival areas (Nordhavn, Refshaleøen, Arsenaløen, Islands Brygge, Bølgen, Sydhavnen and Nyhavn), and examples of tasks include:

Prior to the festival:

  • Making the festival visible: painting stencils, putting up signs and posters
  • Putting up and organizing Kulturhavn Festival’s information stalls
  • Distributing festival programs

During the festival:

  • Inform and guide the festival guests, handing out festival programs
  • Check-in of associations, participants and volunteers
  • Being a part of selected activities, conducting short interviews with guests, documenting the visual communication

What do you get by being a volunteer at Kulturhavn Festival?

Apart from a festive and unforgettable experience, you will get a look behind the scenes of event planning, coordinating and festival production. You will meet and collaborate with a lot of exciting people and expand both your network and CV. For every shift, you will receive a food stamp and a festival t-shirt.

How do I become a volunteer?

You choose yourself in which festival area you want to volunteer, how many shifts you take and when. Every shift lasts maximum five hours, so you will have plenty of time to enjoy the festival as well.
